A word from the creator of the Linestrider tarot:
Commitment, partnership, friendship, attraction, marriage, unification, communication.
The Lovers is one of the most complex cards of the Major Arcana.
This card represents communication, partnership and love in the common and alchemical / universal sense. Gemini is the zodiac sign associated with lovers. In my mind, they manifested as birds, possibly due to their association with the elements of air. At their feet rest fruits and plants that evoke life, fertility and happiness. The five fruits on the ground represent the five senses, indicating the importance of sensuality and its influence on the formation of a couple. The serpent, which is coiled in the fruits, warns us against the temptations of the world and the danger of deception or intrusion. The flames represent passion. The lovers card often speaks of a strong relationship, harmony and mutual attraction. This relationship of mutual trust brings strength and assurance. The close bonds of lovers protect them and help them on their journey through life. This card often reflects a marriage, a connection with a soul mate, or a very intimate and close relationship. Lovers can also indicate a very strong sexual bond.
If this card is in the past, it indicates that you have a strong, loving relationship that is a fundamental part of who you have become. This card could represent a strong parental bond, an important friendship, or a marriage. In the future position, it can mean that the time is ripe for an important commitment in your life (marriage, partnership, etc.) that will help you reach your full potential. But this card isn't just about intimate relationships. In a reading, it can sometimes appear when important change decisions are in progress. The lovers card emphasizes the importance of your decisions and choices. It is therefore essential that you choose the right path. To do this, you need to examine your true desires, find unity and balance within yourself, accept your true nature, and understand what you need to become a whole person and be a better partner. You may have to make some tough choices in order to keep your journey on the right track.
Conversely, the card may indicate inner conflicts, disharmony within yourself, or choices you have made that will sway you from your path. This card also suggests the presence of acrimony and struggle within yourself or in your relationships with those close to you. On a relational level, reversed lovers indicate imbalance, guilt, lack of mutual feeling or attraction, or a "snake lurking in the grass" in the form of intrusion or dishonesty. Take a good look at your situation, you may have to make some heartbreaking decisions. "
